The micro adjust would spin due to vibrations from the machine so it was constantly changing the depth. I sent it back for a refund

Here is a comment from my husband who is the woodworker (I hold the Amazon prime membership)…This is a very good router with lots of good, unique features but with two drawbacks. The visual distortions caused by the plexiglass safety shield prevents me from seeing my work piece well enough to accurately position the bit when routing by hand. I haven’t tried removing the shield since it also forms the dust collection port (which I really like). One other less serious problem is the plunge motion. I apply increasing force on the handles but the plunge mechanism initially will not move and then will move all of a sudden to the depth stop. I would prefer a smooth, controlled plunge.

Addendum. As I use the router more and more I have become accustom to it and the problems I mentioned above don’t seem as serious. I’ve learned to only apply force to the rack and pinion side of the router when plunging and this helped smooth the plunging motion. I have learned where to look to better see the router bit position (but it is still less than ideal). And I’ve mounted the router on a router table and it works great. I really like the micro adjustment feature that allows you to position the height of the router from above the table (the main reason for choosing this router). Bottom line…I would buy this router again because of it’s unique design features.

This thing is awesome in a router table. Being able to raise it up and change the bits all from the top of the table is wonderful. No need for two wrenches either as it locks in place in the full-up position to make it easier.

I bought this because I tore up a bunch of cedar from my 100+ year old house and turned it into shiplap for some ceilings. I love this tool. It took some getting used to but now I find excuses to use this over my Dewalt and Makita routers. My only complaint is that the on/off switch is clumsy, but this router is designed to go in a table and I use it primarily free-hand. The switch makes sense when it’s in a table. It brought some fun back into my projects and I’m truly sad when I finish cutting and have to put it away.
