‘ve had this vise for about a year and continue to find it very useful. It mounted it to my shop-made workbench very easily, and it seems to be holding up very well. the faces are straight and parallel, and there is very little racking when clamping a board on one side. I’ve read other reviews where people had trouble with the quick-release not working consistently, but I’ve never had a problem with mine. Some people may need a larger vise, but the small size works well in my small shop.
There are two things that could be improved to go from 4 to 5 stars, though. First, the movement isn’t smooth when sliding open and closed. Second, the screw for the dog is hard to turn. Neither of these affect the usefulness, but it does distract from the work experience. I got mine for a considerable discount at their retail store, and will say that at regular price, I might look more closely at other options. With the discount, I’m content with very useful vice.

Installation was a bit of a pain, but that’s probably more a function of my workbench being a little on the cheap-yet-overbuilt side (the workbench is engineered sheeting on top of a 2×4 frame inside a 2×8 frame. so it’s thick, and irregular shape)
Marking/cutting the hole for the face was tough as a result, it’s a little too wide and I had to make it deeper several times before the tail of the vise would fit. Would’ve been nice to have a paper template for that ‘front’ direction not just the ‘top’ direction.
Once installed though, I’ve been happy with it; I wish the hole for the dog was a little larger so it was easier to substitute, say, a 1″ x 3/4″ x 6″ piece of hardwood for the steel dog to get more height and less marking.
Regardless, not a bad piece of equipment for a hobbyist; don’t know that it would stand up to heavy day-to-day use by a pro, but it certainly works for me.
